It's fun to play except campaign failure isn't explained well, you kind of have to figure out on your own what is causing it. This is a frustrating experience. There seems to be a turn limit in the campaign that isn't mentioned. The requirements for building certain things aren't clear. There is no explanation on how the stars are determined and awarded. Campaign failure because of turn limit is frustrating. I think everything was made super difficult to force purchasing early on, but I'm not giving up. It's very challenging. I would rate it higher if there was less frustration and confusion related to gameplay requirements, function, and campaign win/loss explanation. It is fun to play, just frustrating.

Great concept. Not so great Execution. Graphics, controls, and overall concept are excellent. However, difficulty is a tad rediculous. Now, I get that some people want a challenge, but I think how steep and quick the difficulty curve is might be a little bit too much. Conquest is almost impossible to win without grinding for ages or paying for generals. The debuffs on you and your allies and buffs to the enemy is also a little to much. I've seen Tsar Cannons coming from level 2 and 3 cities. You often get swarmed within the first 50 turns regardless of how much you try to prevent it. If I were Easytech. I would probably use a similar AI to EW4. The AI from EW4 was pretty good, and coupled with the unit disbanding, it could fix a few issues with major troop spams that I saw in EW4. Like I said, use a similar AI to EW4, which can be beat without having to grind or pay for generals. Overall good concept. Not so great execution on the gameplay and AI front.

I love the mechanics of the game, the textures are amazing, the detail is beyond stunning, and the campaign is great. However, especially on conquest, the AI is absurdly overpowered. It's near impossible to play. Literally the only things I would change is the ability to gain peace with a nation you are at war with, and ease the difficulty. If those factors weren't there, I would play this game more than almost any other.
