Ant_G,
You are correct, shutting down will work the fastest, but who wants their phone off? At least with an app like this, you can reduce time charging but still take a call.

On the long list of permissions:
- precise location (GPS and network-based)
- connect and disconnect from Wi-Fi
What do these have to do with charging?

me, You obviously haven't tried this before, or you would know like I do that turning off features like:
-BlueTooth
-WiFi
-GPS
Makes a decent difference in charging time. You can easily see this yourself.
Additionally, many people have an outrageous number of background app's running all the time. All requiring additional processing, meaning more battery usage.
I'm assuming this app tries to shut those down. I've seen it before anyway.

LakeTonkaMark, I obviously have all these features always turned off (I temporarily switch WiFi on when necessary), that's why I don't know how much longer it takes to charge a device with them needlessly on. I know it takes longer w/o "seeing this myself". You're "assuming this app tries to shut those down" because you've "seen it before anyway". Any evidence that it actually does shut down apps?
