My Samsung S24 has 3 lenses: 0.6x wide angle, 1x normal and 3x zoom. When zooming in with this app, it will stay with the 1x lens doing a digital zoom instead of switching to the 3x lens. It doesn't switch to 3x lens until I zoom to 10x, by which point I'm back in digital zoom territory.
As a "professional" photographer, I like to stay with native zoom whenever possible and keep the digital zoom to a minimum.
When using the Samsung camera app, it has touch points to set 0.6, 1.0 and 3.0 zoom, effectively choosing the lens. So two points:
1. The tiny zoom slider is very difficult for precise control. I was trying to get it to land exactly on 3.0 and couldn't. Maybe by tapping it, the slider could expand to the full display size.
2. I realize this will be different for different phone models, but I would like to be able to choose the 3x lens at 3x zoom level. Even better, to be able to selct *exactly* 3x zoom for best picture quality.
[Edit: I configured volume keys to "zoom", and that would switch to the 3x lens once I passed 3x zoom. After doing that, the slider also switches to the 3x zoom when it passes 3x zoom. Was definitely using 1x lens until 10x zoom before.]
