The English is not perfect and there is too much text. I think this needs more of a game feel, but judging by the illustrations, it's more like reading a book. The author should engage with a graphic artist to make it more visual and draw kids in that way. Maybe also they can break up the chapters by having some small games to illustrate what was taught. Elementary physics games would offer many opportunities to show matter interactions in a game setting and those interactions also reveal their molecular properties. You can even make it "cute" by having atoms inside molecules talking to each other.
