A speech jammer is a device that uses a person’s own speaking to silence him. The device records a person’s voice and then plays it back with a little time delay (which is equivalent to a few hundred milliseconds). The device was invented by Koji Tsukada and Kazutaka Kurihara, and they won the Ig Nobel prize in acoustics on 2012.
